Our clients had 2 little boys and a large dog. This large garden in NW London had lovely views to a church on Hamilton Terrace and we framed the view with a small allée of standard Catalpas. We created beds edged with box hedging punctuated by box balls at the corners. The borders were planted with roses, lavenders and sisyrinchium and we used standard photinias to provide structure throughout the year.
A childrens’ play area is concealed behind some bamboo, and the wendy house is tucked behind a small stand of Betula utilis jacquemontii which lights up the rear of the garden with their pure white trunks.
The terrace is paved with a cream limestone and the planting of iceberg roses and wisterias is complemented by white petunias and pink cosmos.
