This project was a new build house, the clients had a large family and the garden was a blank canvas in a conservation area so the existing trees had to be retained.
We designed a large open lawn where the children play football, with a castellated hardwood screen planted with wisteria and roses to hide the trampoline and climbing frame. To one side of the house we created a wildflower meadow using specialist seeds and turf and planted an orchard with a variety of fruit trees.
The pool garden was planted with pleached crab apples, 2m tall, to provide privacy from a neighbouring house. We kept the planting to a simple palette of purple, white and green using Euphorbia wulfinii and Miscanthus with hundreds of tulips, alliums and anenomes in the spring.
